Cómo investigamos, obtenemos fuentes, verificamos y tratamos a los operadores en Benagil.pt.

Scope

Benagil.pt is an editorial guide. We do not run tours, take bookings, or hold a tourism licence. Our role is to publish accurate, neutral, and practical information about visiting Benagil Cave and the surrounding Algarve coastline - and to point readers at the licensed operators who actually run the tours.

Sources

For regulatory content, we cite primary sources directly: Maritime Authority orders (Capitania do Porto de Portimão), Municipality of Lagoa communications, and the RNAAT tourism registry maintained by Turismo de Portugal. Each regulatory page names the source, links to it where a public URL exists, and shows the date of last verification.

For operator listings, we use only publicly available data: the operator's own website, GetYourGuide and Viator listing pages, Google Business profiles, and direct confirmation from the operator. Where information cannot be cross-checked from at least two of these sources, we mark the entry "To Verify" and say so on the profile itself, naming what specifically we could not confirm, so you can weigh it yourself rather than assuming every listing here has cleared the same bar.

How operators are selected

Our directory is a curated selection, not a register of every operator working this coastline. We list operators we have researched and can describe accurately, and for each one we state what we were able to verify and what we were not - including where we could not confirm an RNAAT registration number.

Some of the operators listed here are ones we hold affiliate booking links for, and that commercial relationship is part of why they appear. We state that plainly rather than presenting the list as a neutral survey of the market. No operator pays us for inclusion, for its position in the table, or for a more favourable description.

Filters in the operator directory narrow the visible set; they never re-rank. A reader filtering by "Benagil Beach" sees a smaller list in the same order.

Editor's picks

On activity pages and on the operator directory we sometimes call out specific operators as "editor's picks" for specific use cases - for example, a small-group experience, the most-reviewed kayak tour, seeing the cave without paddling, or broadest language coverage. The documented operator differentiator that drives the pick is named alongside it (group size, public review count, languages offered, departure point) so you can verify the underlying fact.

Editor's picks are separate from the Featured position at the top of the directory, which carries its own badge and is disclosed as an editorial choice. If another operator publishes the same differentiator more strongly (for instance, a smaller documented group size, more public reviews, or a wider language list), the pick changes. Picks are reviewed quarterly alongside the regulatory refresh.

Who writes this site

The site is written by a local editorial team. We do not list the editor by name on the public site for the same reasons most travel guides do not - to avoid the appearance that the guide's opinion is one person's opinion rather than the result of research and verification.

How we make money

Two streams: affiliate commissions from GetYourGuide and Viator when readers book through our outbound links; and (planned for later phases) a paid premium-listing tier offered to all licensed operators on identical commercial terms. Both streams are disclosed in our footer and on every page where an affiliate link appears.

Affiliate relationships do influence which operators appear in this directory: it is a curated selection, and holding a booking link for an operator is one of the reasons we list it. What affiliate revenue does not buy is a more favourable write-up. Where we could not verify something about an operator we list - a licence number, a review count - we say so on its profile, commercial relationship or not.

Corrections policy

We take corrections seriously. If you spot an error - outdated price, wrong departure point, regulation that has changed - email [email protected]. We aim to verify and update within 5 business days, and we reset the "Last verified" date on the affected page. Significant regulatory changes also receive an entry in our updates log.
